Bal is a dedicated and compassionate Counselling Psychology graduate student at Yorkville University. Holding a bachelor's degree in criminology from Simon Fraser University, Bal brings a wealth of professional experience. Having worked extensively in legal assistance, social work, and crisis intervention, Bal has developed invaluable skills in trauma-informed care, crisis management, and conflict resolution.
Bal is a first-generation South Asian female, born and raised on the West Coast of Canada and is fluent in English and Punjabi (verbal). She possesses the linguistic proficiency necessary to connect with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring effective communication without language barriers. Her career journey has fostered a deep appreciation for cultural sensitivity, allowing her to approach each client with empathy, respect, and an understanding of their unique cultural contexts.
