Jasdeep

Jasdeep is a counselling intern currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling

Psychology at Yorkville University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Fraser Valley.

As a first-generation immigrant who is fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, Jasdeep brings her lived experiences into her work, allowing her to provide a culturally responsive, empathetic, and inclusive space for clients from diverse backgrounds. She works with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan.

Jasdeep believes in the inherent goodness of people and that every individual deserves

respect, kindness, and compassion, regardless of their challenges or identity. She is known for her warm, collaborative approach, fostering a safe and trusting therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. She strives to create a calming and grounding space, particularly for clients navigating distress or crisis.

Her approach is primarily person-centred and strengths-based, with integration of techniques from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based Therapy, and Adlerian therapy. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, relational concerns, life transitions, and caregiver fatigue.

Outside of her professional work, Jasdeep enjoys writing, reading, dancing, and painting. She values mindfulness in her daily life, often spending time walking by the lake, practicing yoga, and engaging in meditation
