As a registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC since 2015, I support those struggling with Anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Anger and behavioural issues or challenges with their relationships.I bring over 8 years of clinical expertise to my work and often work with individuals, couples and families.
As a parent of two young adults, I enjoy working with families (especially parents), and children/youth. I strongly believe that the goal of counselling is to enable the process of psychological and emotional healing so that people can live life to their full potential. With couples and families, I use Gottman and EFT approaches for healing and wellbeing.
Besides using CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, play therapy, solution focussed and behavioural strategies in my work, I am also trained in Emotional Freedom Technique which can help fix faulty thinking patterns and intrusive thoughts. At the core, I am a person-centered therapist and strive to provide a safe, non judgemental space for neurotypical and neurodiverse clients. I also have expertise/training in supporting those with special needs especially academic/behaviour challenges. In the past, I have worked in school settings, non profits and with different social agencies in India and Canada as a youth worker and mental health clinician.
