"Kiran is a counsellor in training who is working towards completing her Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology. As a first-generation Indo-Canadian, she has firsthand experience in navigating the challenges of cultural clashes with cultural expectations. This unique experience has equipped her with the ability to provide culturally sensitive support to individuals from diverse backgrounds. Her background also involves actively participating in volunteer work within the community, particularly with vulnerable and at-risk populations, showcasing her dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Kiran has a deep understanding and experience in utilizing Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Solution-focused Therapy, trauma-informed approaches, and mindfulness therapy. Kiran is dedicated to tailoring therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of each individual. She believes in the principles of unconditional positive regard, self-compassion and creating a safe space for individuals at all stages of life.
She is well-versed in working with individuals across various age groups, with a focus on addressing challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, addictions and intimate partner violence. Kiran is dedicated to providing unwavering support, empathy, compassion and a genuine desire to understand each unique story. She believes that cultivating a therapeutic relationship based on trust and collaboration is essential for the journey to healing and growth.
