Rhiannon Mckechnie
Rhiannon is currently completing work on her MA in Counselling Psychology. She has a background in acting, anthropology, and midwifery, and has a prior master’s degree in Folklore. She has worked with people across the lifespan, from infants to senior citizens. She is a married mother of three, experienced in parenting a neurodiverse child and supporting the LGBTQ2+ community.
Rhiannon can assist individuals and couples from all walks of life dealing with loss and grief, perinatal and postpartum issues, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, parenting, stress, life transitions, sexuality, gender identity, and sexual orientation. A trained yoga teacher, Rhiannon likes to include mindfulness, guided visualization, and breathwork in her practice, when she can. She also uses SFBT, narrative therapy, existentialism, and expressive arts, working collaboratively with clients to help them to find balance and feel empowered in how they live their lives. She takes a person-centered approach, holding space for her clients, being fully present with them, and creating a safe, non-judgmental environment.
When not working, Rhiannon can be found onstage, on her yoga mat, or with her family and friends, several of whom are four-legged and furry! She acknowledges the honour of getting to live, work, andplay on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish people.
