Winnie Wong (RSW, MSW) is a trained and certified Trauma therapist, uses EMDR in her work and has over years of practice experience in Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada. Winnie graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Social Science in Social Work. She obtained an Erasmus Mundus Masters in Advanced Development in Social Work from the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom after studying across five European countries.
Winnie’s extensive experience includes working with individuals, couples and families from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in family, school, hospital and community settings. She has rich experience supporting clients in areas including trauma, low sense of self, mental health challenges, life transitions, relationship challenges and grief.
Winnie is authentic, warm, gentle, genuine and nurturing. She uses trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, person-centered and strengths-based approaches guided by an anti-oppressive practice framework. She integrates a variety of modalities including narrative therapy, mindfulness, cognitive-behavior therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, somatic-experiencing therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, expressive arts therapy and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing based on clients’ needs and preferences.
Winnie strongly believes that clients are the experts of their own lives. She is passionate about journeying with people in their greatest joy and deepest pain to effect life transformation.
